Peggy Hailes (Lind)

PEGGY (HAILES) LIND OBITUARY

Mesquite, NV  Peggy passed away in her home, March 27, 2023 following a six-year cancer battle.
Born September 30, 1953 in Salt Lake City to John "Jack" Morris and Pauline (Peck) Hailes as the 2nd of 6 children. She went to Glendale and South High, before graduating from Bingham High School and attending Brigham Young University.                                                                                  She was skilled in, and enjoyed, painting and handiwork, music, family history, and cooking and sewing. Her church service included many leadership positions everywhere she lived. Of all she did though, she loved being a wife and stay-at-home mom most.                                                            She met her husband, Chris, on a blind date in March 1988 - they were married 2 months later, in the Jordan River Utah Temple. They took their 2 children and followed Chris' career to South Dakota, Germany, Ireland, and Pennsylvania, along with many unique vacations. Finally escaping the snow and humidity, they retired to Mesquite, NV.                                                                       Her children remember her always being able to create or make something ten times better than what could be purchased, doctoring recipes fit for a restaurant and staying up late to help with any homework or project. She loved reading to her grandchildren.                                                       Peggy is survived by her husband Chris, daughter Anne Marie Stirland (Mitch) and son Taylor John Lind (Chelsea); grandchildren Chandler Lind, Bern Jack Stirland, Nora Lind, Arthur Dee Stirland, and Carter Lind; mother, Pauline, and siblings Pat, Penny, Joyce (Brent) and Phillip (Jackie).                                                                               Her father, Jack, and youngest sister, Lynn predeceased her.                                                                                      Funeral services will be held Friday, March 31, 2023 at 12pm in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Bunkerville chapel. There will be no viewing. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations, in Peggy's name, to the Huntsman Cancer Institute to further research, in hopes that soon there will be a cure for this horrible disease. Peggy is one of the Glendale bunch. An extraordinary person, with so many talents that she willing shared! She taught us how to sew, cook, knit, crochet...I thought she was the most accomplished girl I ever knew. She went to South till her family moved to South Jordan, but was alway a true-blue Cub. She never missed a Reunion till the 50th Reunion.... We missed seeing you Peggy!  Until we meet again, Heaven is more beautiful because you are there!  Love to you and your family,  Heidi Hilton Post

I remember Peggy well.  She was such a nice person.  If you talked to her, she always had a smile.  RIP Peggy.

Meet Peggy doing Driver's Ed. Drove in the same car. Latter we had lots of fun picking up stray animals for her dad, driving new cars and truck(Yellow) to several states and driving the old ones back for Jack her Dad for Northwest Pipeline. Started dating did doubles with LuAnn Moeller and Ken my twin. Dated after my mission and for some time. We would ride Totgoats out in the fields, go on fun trips down the California coast pulling a trailer. For some reason drifted a different directions but ALWAYS had fon memories of fun times together. Felt bad when it didn't work out because Peggy was always kind, fun too be with.I am glad we both had a good life after but very sad to hear how she passed. A very tallented kind person.Good Looking too, if I might say
