JOSEPH LEE MARTINEZ OBITUARY

Joseph Lee Martinez 1953 ~ 2005  Our beloved father, grandfather, brother and son, Joseph Lee Martinez passed away surrounded by his family and loved ones at the age of 51 on January 4, 2005. He was born October 2, 1953 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Donald J. and Celia Gonzalez Martinez. Joe graduated from South High School in 1971. He married the love of his life, Caleen Tebbs on March 11, 1972. They later resided in Magna where he retired from Kennecott in 2001. Joe loved music, he had a strong passion for the "Beatles". He loved sports, the Dallas Cowboys, hunting, fishing, skydiving, yard work, spending time with family and friends. In his final years he focused his attention on his southern bells (Grandchildren) Alyssa "Cookie Monster", Ashlyn "Ashybella", April "Boo-Boo", and Whitnee "Whitney Houston". He will be missed by all who loved him. He is survived by children, Angela "Sister Bell" (Randy) Visser and Adrian "Chado" (Jaimee) Martinez. Parents, Donald and Celia Martinez. Brothers and sisters, Louise (Tony) Gies, Patricia "Patsy", Michael (Mona), Donald (Vicky), Natalie (Richard) Hoffman, Laura, Toni, Alfred (Evon), Albert (Chris), Irene (Lynn) Smith, Margie, Peta (Jimmy), Dorothy, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Joe Lee and Eugenia Martinez (Mom and Dad to Joe), and Dimitrio Martinez. A special thanks to the Magna Center for Family Health, VistaCare Hospice, Rocky Mountain Care Center, and long time friends and neighbors, the Esparza family. A funeral mass will be celebrated Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 3580 West 3650 South. A vigil service will be held Friday at 7:00 p.m. at Neil O'Donnell and Sons Mortuary, 372 East 100 South, where friends may call from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. Committal, Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 4th Avenue and T Street.
